Ecquaria Congratulates Brunei on the Launch of e-Darussalam Portal with National Authentication Module for Seamless Online Service Access

Brunei Launches e-Darussalam Portal

Ecquaria wishes to express our congratulations to the Government of Brunei Darussalam on the successful launch of e-Darussalam portal in July 2011.

As part of the portal launch, Ecquaria has been working closely with the E-Government National Centre (EGNC) and the Land Transport Department (LTD) on the respective implementation of the National Authentication Module (NAM) and the pilot launch of online Land Transport System (SPD) services.

Users in Brunei can expect to access online government services anytime, anywhere with one common User ID and password upon registering at the national e-Darussalam portal (www.gov.bn).

NAM is an initiative by EGNC to improve user experience by removing the need for users to remember different passwords when dealing with different government agencies. In addition, it is aimed to avoid any duplication of information and processes among the government agencies, making them more efficient and cost-effective.

Today, drivers can conveniently renew their driving licences and road tax as well as book their vehicle for inspection online once they have registered an account with e-Darussalam. Using the same password, they can also pay their electricity bills via e-Darussalam.

In support of the Brunei Government’s E-Government Strategic Plan 2009-2014 to provide customer-centric services online, Ecquaria has been partnering with the Brunei Government to share its e-Government experience and expertise. The company recently won the Business Licensing System contract which aims to facilitate the set up of businesses in Brunei.
