Ecquaria is proud to sponsor and support the Biopolis Open House held on 19th January which was presided by the Minister of Health, Mr Khaw Boon Wan.
Jointly organized by Singapore Tissue Network (STN) and Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS), the Biopolis Open House 2006 is an outreach programme to inform the public about the roles played by the respective research institutes in the treatment and cure of diseases.
The event also showcased research findings by the Singapore Consortium of Cohort Studies (SCCS) – a long-term health study funded by the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) and conducted by the National University of Singapore (NUS). In particular, the Ecquaria SOP™ has provided SCCS a process-based research platform to support their research study into diseases such as stroke, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and cancer among the three major ethnic groups in Singapore.
Ecquaria is also helping STN to design and develop an integrated web-based, workflow-intensive system based on Ecquaria SOP™ to streamline processes for integration, storage, collection and transport of phenotypic data from various collection sites to the STN tissue repository. The system when completed will help to facilitate electronic case reporting for the larger biomedical community.
