Ecquaria signs MOU to boost eGovernment Cooperation with Indonesia at excellenceGov Forum launch

In the spirit of developing a mutually rewarding cooperation in the area of eGovernment (eGov) in Indonesia, Singapore Infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF) and a group of Indonesian companies on 22nd May 2008 inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in Jakarta, Indonesia. The MOU sees the establishment of an industry-led sharing platform for best practices in eGov solutions known as the excellenceGov Forum (EGF).

Leading the Singapore EGF delegation is Dr Foong Wai Keong, President and CEO of Ecquaria, who is the Chairman of the eGov Chapter at SiTF. Other Singapore EGF partners include member companies under the SiTF eGov Chapter such as NCS Group, Crimson Logic, Singapore Technologies Electronics, Trusted Hub, PCS Security, etc and Indonesian partners including eGov Indonesia, Altelindo, Palapa Digital Electronic, Sigma Cipta Utama, Anabatic Teknologi and Adicipta Inovasi.

EGF aims to become a Centre of Excellence in applying eGov in Indonesia. Said Dr Foong, "We recognize the common challenges faced by governments as they aspire to achieve the goal of delivering higher quality public services to their citizens. The Indonesian eGov companies will help to deepen the Singapore companies' understanding of local challenges and we hope to work together to address the eGov challenges in Indonesia."

The EGF comprises 19 leading eGov players from Singapore and Indonesia and represents a collective strength and experience in over 200 eGovt projects in more than 18 countries.

EGF is jointly initiated by International Enterprise (IE) Singapore, the lead agency together with SiTF eGov Chapter.
