Ecquaria participated as a key host and exhibitor at Singapore’s inaugural iGov Global Exchange which was held in June 2009. The event was organized by the Ministry of Finance and the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore.
Besides showcasing its United Nations-acclaimed Online Business Licensing Service and the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority's BizFinx (Business Financials in XBRL)
e-government solutions, Ecquaria introduced its unique Business 360 concept for the first time where the company envisions empowering businesses and governments with a seamless and unified view of their businesses via a one-stop shop.
Governments can get a boost with ICT to help prop up their economic ranking, said Dr Foong Wai Keong, Ecquaria’s President and CEO. The current economic downtime presents new opportunities for governments to transform their business environments, he added.
Today, Singapore is ranked tops as the world's most business-friendly country for three consecutive years since 2007, according to the "The Doing Business Report 2009" by the World Bank.
Thanks to the foresight of the government in its continuous investments in infocomm to empower businesses with the launch of the Online Business Licensing Service, OBLS in 2004 and Business Financials in XBRL, BizFinx in 2007 to help cut red tapes and to boost transparency and governance in financial reporting. |
