Ecquaria Awarded Exclusive Rights to Manage and Export Online Business Licensing Service for Singapore Government

The Singapore Government’s Online Business Licensing Service (OBLS) is now commercialized and poised for aggressive export – thanks to Ecquaria's flagship product, Ecquaria Service-Oriented Platform™, a Made-in-Singapore software product that is powering the globally acclaimed application.

As the government's exclusive licensee, Ecquaria now owns the rights to use, reproduce and modify outside of Singapore the Intellectual Property (IP) of the OBLS.

With the latest award, this makes Ecquaria the first homegrown IT company that owns the domain, design and code-based enhancement as well as export rights for the Singapore Government's flagship eGAP I and eGAP II projects, namely the Public Service Infrastructure (PSi) and Online Business Licensing Service (OBLS).

Designed, developed and implemented for the Singapore Ministry of Trade and Industry by Ecquaria, OBLS was awarded the prestigious United Nations Public Service Award in 1995.

As of April 2006, 77 licenses from 18 public agencies can be applied through the OBLS e-Service. Of these licenses, businesses can renew, update and terminate 59 of them. In 2005, about 40,000 transactions were made through the system.
