Singapore (11 Oct 2006) – Double jubilee dawned on two companies as Ecquaria and their customer, the Singapore Health Promotion Board (HPB), were recognized by the National Infocomm Awards (NIA) 2006, the highest industry accolade for excellence in infocomm innovation.
The dual awards for the homegrown technology company and the public health organization underscore a significant validation from the industry for Ecquaria’s flagship product, the Ecquaria Service Platform™ (Ecquaria SOP™) in the Most Innovative Infocomm Product category and for their customer, HPB in the Most Innovative Use of Infocomm Technology (Public Sector) category for the launch of the nation’s largest, mission-critical complex integrated healthcare and dental care for schools.
Receiving the Award from the Prime Minister, Mr Lee Hsien Loong at the NIA Gala Dinner last night, Dr Foong Wai Keong, President and CEO, Ecquaria Technologies said, “Being honoured at The National Infocomm Awards by our peers and the industry has brought tremendous validation, not just for Ecquaria SOPTM product innovation, but for the many outstanding Ecquarians who dare to think out-of-the-box. We would like to thank all our customers and partners for their support for SOP™.”
He added that the company aspires to expand the overseas markets of its quintessentially Made-in-Singapore technology, which is representative of the very spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship of many other local infocomm companies struggling for wider recognition and hopes that Ecquaria SOP™ sets the industry stage in revolutionizing the way large complex systems are being built now and in the future to solve business challenges.
Ecquaria’s customer, HPB was also honoured for enhancing the provision of holistic care for school children in Singapore in its embrace of innovation and technology to launch ‘SHAPE and IDEAS’ (Student Health Assessment Programme and Integrated Dental Electronic Assessment for Students) - Asia’s largest and only integrated system that links over one million student medical and dental records.
We are proud that our customer, HPB is recognized as an innovative user of technology with Ecquaria SOP™ as a key enabler in pioneering arguably Asia’s only and largest mission-critical integrated healthcare and dental system for Service-Oriented healthcare for school children in Singapore, Dr Foong added.
Held to honour public and private organizations that have made their mark in the development and adoption of innovation and IT, the National Infocomm Awards 2006 is the third such award since 2001. Jointly awarded by the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA) and the Singapore infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF), it is the only national award that recognises Infocomm excellence in organizations.
Nominees for the awards were evaluated based on the innovativeness of their entries and technology use, scale of implementation, market presence and value impact. |
